Chase and Emma's wedding at White Stone Events in Sugar Grove was supposed to start outside. The weather had other plans. What happened next is one of my favorite reminders that a wedding doesn't have to go exactly to plan to be unforgettable: a room full of 132 guests who came ready to dance, and a couple who made the most of every minute.
When Rain Changed the Plans
Chase and Emma had planned an outdoor ceremony, but the rain didn't cooperate, so the ceremony moved indoors.
The White Stone Events team was incredibly accommodating. The venue has multiple event spaces, and for Chase and Emma's day, the celebration moved into a larger reception room with a beautiful black-and-white checkered dance floor.
Once everything came together, the room looked stunning. What could have been a disappointing change turned into the perfect setting for a party, and Chase and Emma rolled with it from the start.

A Crowd That Came Ready to Party
From the first song of open dancing, the energy was through the roof. There were about 132 guests, but it felt like a much bigger party because of how into it everyone was.
The mix covered wedding favorites, pop, throwbacks, electronic music, and recognizable dance hits, and Calvin Harris was a huge hit with this crowd.
One of my favorite moments came from a request: “Clarity” by Zedd featuring Foxes. The second it hit, the whole room was singing. That's the part of the job I love: reading the crowd, catching the right request, and dropping it at the moment it'll land.

T-Shirt Toss, Foam Sticks, and Nonstop Dancing
This reception wasn't just about the music. Chase and Emma built in a T-shirt toss and foam sticks, and the guests got involved in everything.
A highlight was the group line dance to “Fireball” by Pitbull. All night, it had the feel of a big celebration, with guests jumping in at every chance.

A Few Unexpected Musical Moments
Some of the best moments of the night weren't ones you'd expect at a typical reception: a Frozen-inspired lighting moment and a singalong to “Breaking Free” from High School Musical.
That's where creative mixing comes in. When you know who's on the dance floor, songs from completely different worlds can sit side by side without breaking the energy. With the right lead-in and the right timing, a Disney moment or a High School Musical singalong can fit right next to Calvin Harris.
There was also a moment when Chase picked Emma up in the middle of the celebration, another highlight of the night.
An Unforgettable Last Dance
After hours of high-energy dancing, we closed the night with “You're Still the One” by Shania Twain.
The guests gathered around Chase and Emma in a circle, and the whole room slowed down. After a night that loud, it ended on something emotional and personal: the two of them surrounded by the people they love, everyone singing together.
The night finished with a group hug, and several guests came up to share how much they'd enjoyed the celebration. That's the kind of ending I hope every couple gets.
